Sidwell Friends School Quaker Mtg Rm, Washington, DC
An aging gymnasium building on the upper campus of Sidwell Friends School has undergone extensive renovation and new construction to create a new Meeting Room and Arts Facility. This new facility includes studio space for visual arts, technical classrooms for theater arts, and a new 500-seat Meeting Room to be used for daily meeting, assembly, performance, and film presentation. The renovated building also contains dedicated, large instrumental and choral rehearsal rooms, as well as individual music practice rooms. K2 provided consulting services in architectural acoustics, sound isolation, noise control from building services, and audiovisual systems design through a collaboration with Sound Video Lighting Solutions Inc., based in Mechanicsburg, PA.
